@@mayaboggs600 for real. My thought was, "You literally carved out her unborn child, the fuk you mean you didn't know she was pregnant?? Why go that far then, huh?!"
Claims to be unaware his victim is pregnant, yet he carved the baby out of her and mockingly displayed it next to a lantern... The father must've gone insane, to discover someone did something so incredibly cruel to your wife and baby. It is mind-blowing that they were able to forgive him, they must be very strong people.
I have no idea why, but that wolf mask in that photo gives me "fight or flight". I'm pretty sure I'd be fine seeing that mask in any other context but the head-on angle and the lighting make it super uncanny.
The first story made me physically sick. That poor woman went through hell and her daughter having to hear it all just breaks my heart. That poor family. I genuinely hope her ex husband rots behind bars and is haunted by what he did. Rest heavenly, Doreen.
While what he did was wrong at the same time he lost his child who he cared very much for and really the child should have been with him rather than her, I think that's what set him off not the break up and new BF but his young son dying and I don't care what excuse they're claiming it is purely negligence on Doreen's part had they been watching that child which they 100% should have no excuse and not just oh well it's an accident s*** happens I'll move on with my beautiful life and have another kid. Again not saying he was in the right but I can absolutely understand his anger and frustration/pain the one thing he had left in the world was that little boy he obviously cared about and then he dies in the custody of his ex wife, also it seemed like she just moved on with her new life while he was left devastated so I can understand.
@ Why should the kid have been with him? I agree they could’ve had split custody but we don’t know why he didn’t get that. And before you say it’s unusual for fathers to get split custody, it’s not. I understand his pain but in no way does that excuse what he did. And it kinda sounds like you’re placing blame on Doreen for moving on. What was she supposed to do? She already had a kid and was remarried, was she supposed to just end it? He was just jealous he couldn’t find the same happiness.
@@jessemelville Stop sympathizing for a murderer bro. His kid died in an accident and it is extremely bizarre and stupid to believe that a mother would intentionally kill her own child just so her ex doesn't have to come visit her anymore. The more you think about it, the less it makes sense, the guy was just crazy. And the mother has the right to move on, just like the father had the right to move on from losing their child. It is foolish to believe that the mother also didn't feel tragedy when her kid died. More foolish to believe that the mother should not be able to move on from it.
Idk what it is, but the fact Patricia Meehan was just standing there like a spectator, analyzing the crash, is the most erie thing ever. It's very scary like, almost. Everything about her dissaperance is one BIG cliffhanger.
I ran out of gas in the middle of Montana once, and had I not been right beside a cell phone tower I might not have made it until someone found me. I don't think she's alive, there is a lot of empty land and a lot of large wildlife in that state. That's what makes it so wonderful to visit, and so scary to get stuck in.
@@puddintain9164 Hehe I was going to make a joke about Circle Montana being in the flatlands of eastern Montana... so no cliffs to hang off.......🤣 Montana is the 4th largest state and at one time it had the 4th smallest population I think there are a few more with lower Pop. now but the vast majority of the state is sill great for stargazing what with the lack of light pollution. I remember one time coming back from a family reunion we were in the middle of no where and pulled off the road to watch the Northern Lights, pitch black surrounded by fields and glorious!
I haven't even gotten to that part of the video yet, but I know exactly who you're talking about. It was a story on unsolved mysteries, and that scene of the reenactment was so incredibly creepy!
@TawnyC_ Given the evidence found afterward, it seems likely he didn't. The killer was probably waiting for them to go to bed or something so he could get to both of them. He just saw an opportunity when Charles left.
It's actually not unusual for people with bad head injuries to wander away or in some cases run or fight when they've been injured. It's apparently a known issue with first responders that someone in an accident might just leave not realizing they have life threatening injuries.
Okay, so now explain why both climbers were only wearing one crampon, both were missing their gloves, and her body was placed under a rock on a glacier with no other loose rocks around. Explain why her photos clearly show them all roped together, despite the two men with her saying they weren't tied off.
Unfortunately, Patricia probably had a stroke or an aneurysm and died. When I was younger I knew a man who did almost the exact same thing as her - drove on the wrong side of the highway, was acting super hyper and weird the day before, and he had even put on his pants backward but he had no idea that anything was wrong. No slurred speech, no facial-drooping or anything. He was luckily grabbed by law enforcement before he could ditch the crash site and when taken to a hospital they confirmed he was having a stroke and his brain was all sorts of jumbled. Patricia's story reminds me a lot of that. Her brain was still carrying her through daily activities like taking photos and talking to her landlord, and somewhere deep in her brain was the desire to go home, so when things started to go haywire, it ended in this situation. Very sad but I hope she just went to sleep and didn't wake up.
The snow potentially covers concealed crevasses. That's why you see professionals progress so slowly, as they have to poke around to make sure they won't fall into an icy death trap. Also, the risk factor of avalanche increases, depending on various conditions. To me the "altitude sickness" defense doesn't hold up if they had oxygen tanks and made sure to trek at a reasonable pace to get their body accustomed to the heights. If they didn't have any, they were arrogant climbers. It can be possible. Sometimes, the most seasoned pros overestimate their abilities and durability. At 6K meters of altitude, this is no joking matter. Anyway, expeditions are a collective effort, this one was promised to disaster as their team had very poor chemistry. Having a lesser partner you know you can entrust your life to is better than having the best's best if you hate them with all your guts.
Ice climbing itself isn’t much more dangerous than some types of outdoor climbing, especially at places with artificially made ice structures or with well documented spots. But mountaineering like they were has a lot more variables that can make it unsafe. It all depends!
I listen to these all the time. The first story got me though. I mean really got me. The thought of coming home on halloween night and your preganant wife mutilated and alive by a thread, unborn son dead, and having to deal with the truama is unimaginable. Not to mention the daughter who heard it all, i can only imagine the trauma they went through. Wow
My theory on Patricia is that she used the crash as an attempt to flee her life and hope people would think she died. Her standing at the fence and looking at the crash and the police lady was perhaps her second thinking herself, or maybe checking to see the police woman was ok. Love these videos thanks Lazy! ❤
It seems likely, but why a head on crash? That seems more like she maybe wanted to end herself. But like you said, second guessing herself and using that as an opportunity to just disappear instead of not being on earth at all. All so creepy.
It wasn't as simple as jealousy. His only son drowned in her care. May not have been her fault. And she definitely didn't deserve to be unalived. It was more than mere jealousy though.
Did you miss the entire part where his 4 year old son drowned under her care and he blamed her and her new husband for it, thinking she let it happen on purpose? It doesn't justify murder but you saying it was just "over jealousy" is not correct
First case - the neighbors see a masked adult standing, hiding a heavy object inside a grocery store bag, watching someone's house... and do nothing? I mean, please warn the family. Stop by or call their phone number. "Hey, just letting you know there is someone looking at your house for some time now. It may be nothing, but just thought I'd let you know so you stay safe". That's what I would do.
It was Halloween, the one time of the year where that's not particularly suspicious. It's possible that they assumed he was a parent or just a teenager waiting for his friend to join him before they went to a house party.
@@casanovafunkenstein5090I'd always thought that so many murders must happen on Halloween compared to other times of the year for that reason but it doesn't really seem to be the case, this is the first one I'd ever heard about.
That’s heartbreaking 💔 that a man would just come up to someone’s door and attack a pregnant woman with a machete. Her ex husband is a sick person! Doreen had already been through so much that year.
So what about him losing his child, was it not also his child WTF not making excuses for this guy what he did is reprehensible but at the same time their negligence resulted in him losing his son.
@@jessemelville Okay, just stop right there. The child drowning was NOT the mother's fault. There were safeguards around the pool, and the account gives precisely zero indication that the mother was, say, getting drunk and partying while her child snuck off. It was likely a matter of less than a minute, maybe even seconds, for the child to disappear. And sneak in and fall into a pool that she was not expected to be in when it was noticed that she had gone missing. This kind of tragedy _does_ 'just happen', even in situations where it shouldn't, without negligence or fault. His refusal to accept that was the first of multiple profoundly stupid choices this ahole made.
@@joellewis6086 They're going around commenting on every comment saying the woman was just a much a fault. Even shamed her for being pregnant at all in one comment. Either a troll or someone with low intelligence, can't tell.

I was lucky to get away from my ex-bf. Turned out years later, he did finally take the life of his gf. 1st degree with a gun enhancement. I have always wondered that if I had reported what he did to me, he wouldn't have taken her life. I hid it. I was embarrassed I wasn't good enough.
It makes me wonder why the most experienced climber died, or more likely was murdered on her way back down... Statistically speaking, if two murders occur in one place by one group, then both are likely linked. Otherwise, they must have gone REALLY crazy, like aggressive paranoia... Due to the situation and camera, it seems that she wasn't aware of the death of her fellow climber, or both got murdered later together, just that their corpses ended up in very different places. Neither really seems to make much sense.
The Big Bad Wolf: "I never meant to chop her up. I meant to drown them alive!" *his lawyer leans over and whispers* "The Big Bad Wolf: "What do you mean I'm not helping?"
I mean they tried for an insanity defence. He claimed to not realise/remember she was pregnant but removed the unborn child!? A boy, as many speculated a "replacement" for his son she'd "killed" it's no excuse for his actions!! But the above paired with his preparations before hand, the plans for drowning them in coffins he'd made!? That sounds like psychosis to me!!
@@MamaPinkssame it’s so soothing try adding be.busta he reads horror and crime and ghosts like mr ballen and lazy here give him a go you won’t be unhappy. Tell me what you think
The other climbers in the second story clearly murdered the pair. Their stories not matching and then fleeing the country to then go make up another story speaks volumes of their guilt.
All due respect, there's nothing clear about it. I'm really disappointed that Lazy Masquerade covered this story in this way. Putting aside total lack of motive, Do you see their faces? 21:22 Would you say those are men who have spent a large amount of time in _a distinctly extreme_ environment? From the Wikipedia page for Aconcagua: "...the effects of altitude are severe (atmospheric pressure is 40% of sea level at the summit)...Altitude sickness will affect most climbers to some extent, depending on the degree of acclimatization...Although the normal climb is technically easy, multiple casualties occur every year on this mountain...many climbers underestimate the objective risks of the elevation and of cold weather, which is the real challenge on this mountain. Given the weather conditions close to the summit, cold weather injuries are very common." /end quote I said in my own comment, what would have been suspicious would be their stories matching perfectly. It's not uncommon for discrepancies in witness testimony to vary anyway, baseline, but especially at 20,000 ft. when you're suffering from altitude sickness, at odds with high winds and freezing temperatures that are trying to end you. Look at the 1996 Mt. Everest Disaster. Survivor testimony varies wildly; survivors have written books that contradict each other. When you're that high, dealing with environments that extreme, recalling events clearly is very challenging. And they did not flee the country. They were Americans who went home. Lazy Masquerade frames it as if they suddenly booked flights to escape the country. As if mountaineers don't plan the trip home ahead of time. These guys were cops and lawyers and farmers. They had jobs to get back to. I'm incredibly disappointed in Masquerade for framing this story in such a glib fashion. There really isn't anything unusual about this case. If anything, unfortunately, it's a pretty standard mountaineering disaster. This is how these things go sometimes.
@@kooriicolada It's very common for gear to be missing from stranded climbers, particularly crampons and gloves. It's a symptom of hypothermia called "paradoxical undressing". Unfortunately it happens a lot. On Mt. Everest sometimes they find stranded bodies with their jackets completely unzipped. The librarian's missing axe could be anywhere. Given how dynamic the weather is at that elevation, it very well may have only been a few feet away, under snow and ice. It probably was. It's highly, highly unlikely that a climber would "do that" (I'm watching my language so the comment doesn't get auto-deleted) to another climber to get THEIR axe. It's just...not practical. Anything possible, but it's profoundly unlikely.
In the second story, I feel that as the manager of the base camp, he should have probably not just taken a photo if he,,, thought that one or more would be dead
I've heard so many murder stories that the first one didn't really bother me much, in the sense that it scared me. Aconcagua is horrifying to me, though. Imagine going on a risky trip with a group of people, determined to climb this mountain.. just to then be killed in cold blood, left in the snow to hopefully never be found. And then, when people do find your body, it's horribly frozen and your gear's been removed, and the killer is never declared your killer, because there's no way to know who in the group did it.
I totally agree I also have been watching his videos for a long time it is really wonderful to see his content get better and better. It's nice to see his success.
I love how Lazy Masquerade uses Google Earth during vids bc there have been so many stories I have watched on other channels where I end up looking up locations on Google Earth or Maps.
i love this channel so much i’ve been watching a lot of other morbid channels in the recent months but i find a lot of don’t put much attention into research and often miss important details which is so frustrating to me. it’s so satisfying to watch these well created quality videos!
Aconcagua is one of the best mysteries I've never heard of until recently. If that picture was taken on the Polish Ledge it had to be the next morning, after that storm allegedly made them hunker down on thermal blankets. One crampon each is very odd, like they were getting them on or off when whatever happened[assuming they didn't share a pair for whatever reason]. Being disoriented like that, in a survival situation when you don't have the gear and are with inexperienced climbers, and barely have any loyalty or trust in each other, is a recipe for disaster. It is entirely possible to have a major fall down a mountain where you slide and only your head that's leading you down the slope hits things until you stop momentum. Especially if the first blow knocked you out, limp bodies take less damage from extreme collisions.
Does anyone else see parallels between the Patricia Meehan case and the disappearance of Maura Murray in 2004? There seems to be a lot of cases like this involving mental health, a car crash, and a disappearance thereafter. At least in Maura’s case, I think she met foul play by an opportunistic third party coming through the area. The area has been searched many times, but no remains have been found. The only conclusion is that she must have gotten into another car, either willingly, or by force. I can’t say the same for Patricia’s case because witnesses would have reported it if Patricia went in the car of a third party. It’s possible that she could have encountered foul play in the woods. She just as easily could have run away. Did she have anything in her life that would have caused her to run away? Debts? Abusive partners? Something else? To answer Patricia surveying the crash like a spectator, it’s possible that she could have entered a dissociative state. I know the shock, guilt, and disbelief when I got into a car crash over a decade ago (my fault). But, I stayed with the other party, and didn’t flee from the scene. Edited a typo.
The first one is just terrible. I can only imagine that her husband literally never leaves her daughter or any future lovers he had. He is probably always paranoid and terrified to do that now. I hope everyone involved in these cases are now okay and got any help they could have needed.

The first story. This guy knows how it feels to lose a child, so you take someone else's? Grief makes people do strange things, but that is so planned and evil.
@@gandhitheholeresizer8329 I suspect his wife purposely allowed the son to drown tbh, not excusing what he did because the courts messed up massively not granting the verdict on the wrongful death case plus the system never provided him anything after losing his son. This case is featured on another channel where a lot of the details that were left out here are covered, it paints a far different picture than the one this video tries to portray of his ex-wife being a completely innocent victim.
I remember the first story, very well. I remember thinking the Ex husband should not be able to claim insanity for the simple fact the murders were most certainly criminally premeditated.
Never thought you would talk about Patrica Meehan. This happen outside of the town I grew up in. My dad was in high school at the time and helped look for her

That first story made me feel sick. Even as someone who’s a big fan of the Terrifier movie series and other slashers, when I hear about that sort of thing when it’s real it just makes me feel so awful. It’s very possible I like movies like that to help me deal with the reality of that sort of thing happening in a more palatable way. But still movies are entirely different to real life. Same way guns and violence in video games can be fun but guns and violence in real life scare the hell out of me.
Thank you, Lazy!! So great to have you back ❤🎉🥳✨️ I've been craving a new documentary from you lately! The Doreen Erbert case will always leave me downright sickened, disturbed, and disappointed in the cruelness of humans. Trying to imagine what that night of horrific nightmares would've been like to not only experience personally but also to be a young child when it happened is just beyond heartbreakingly painful. That poor little girl and family 😔💔

I honestly think that, were it not for his son's death, he never would have done something like that. Many people in this world live their lives just one mental injury from completely shattering and you'd never even know it until it was too late. It was a despicable act but not beyond comprehension when you consider the factors that led to it. It does not make it right by any means, but losing your only child and under those circumstances, particularly when you feel that child is your reason for living...I can certainly see how that might break a man. That being said, it's a shame his death sentence was commuted to life in prison. I feel like the victim's family should have had some say in that after what they've been through.
@@So_Toasty thats why i think marriage nowadays should be abolished, it doesn't benefit men and women can easily get to another man and restart a new life as if the old one is gone imagine being that guy in the story murder doesn't justify it but the marriage and divorce led to this.
No horror/slasher movie plot compares to the first story. I don’t even want to imagine what went through her mind and the terror she felt when she opened the door and saw him. The wolf mask just makes it so much worse.

I find the stories so strange of people who die while on hiking trips under mysterious circumstances. Do people literally just lose their minds while climbing these mountains? If that's the case why would anyone bother trying to climb them at all if the chances of succumbing to the cold are that certain.
honestly altitude sickness is real and very dangerous, lots of hallucinations happen and delirium is real. The pressure changes really quickly can mess up many senses and the brain, it’s something like when divers ascend to quickly from the depth of the sea.
Its beacause there are people in this world who are adrenaline junkies and their curiosity got the better of them but yeah I agree people like that need to face the fact that there are places in the world humanity wasn't meant to ever reach because we aren't built for that
@ i mean don’t get me wrong; there’s definitely ways to correctly ascend and descend a mountain. this group threw caution to the wind, many were weak hikers and that puts the entire group in a harder spot. I believe if the two that passed were with another group this wouldn’t have happened. i do think foul play was involved due to 1.) altitude sickness or 2.) no one in the group wanted to look weaker then the two that passed. especially the woman. she was the only woman there, i could see old established men being very negative about her out doing them
@@scarlettherbst Its like the people who squeeze themselves into the tiniest spots in caves until EVENTUALLY someone gets stuck and dies. Like...why? lol It seems so unnatural to have the urge to do that to yourself let alone for "fun".

What a complete vile monster! Michael is one rotten soul! He's the epitome of the saying " I don't want you but no one else can have you" This tragedy is an example of not to ever open up a door late at night. And to look in the peephole before opening the door.
The first story disgusts me on a personal level. Before I was even born, my mom also lost a daughter to accidental drowning. But she didn't murder anybody and try to blame it on her grief. Instead, she picked herself up and healed. William was a weak piece of shit and Paul would be absolutely disgusted if he could see what his father had become.
Those two were definitely murdered. The others were jealous of their skills. And a woman in a masculine group like that is always a recipe for disaster. Patricia's case extremely strange. Sounds like she was deeply depressed and stressed . Probably doesn't want to be found

Right it almost looks like it's edited onto the OG photo. Its way too unsettling
that's literally just cause it's a mask lol

Very sad but I hope she just went to sleep and didn't wake up.

ice climbing is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. i dont know why people do it, the odds of death are so high. it's scary. some people must just love the thrill.
Psychopathic thrill seeking behavior.
I love nature and outdoors, but that’s definitely not on my list.
@@AdventureswithLandon You should do it.
@ yes like maybe that was her original plan but then survived and took the opportunity.
The first one actually hurt my heart. Murdering her over jealousy is just sick. So sorry to the family
It wasn't as simple as jealousy. His only son drowned in her care. May not have been her fault. And she definitely didn't deserve to be unalived. It was more than mere jealousy though.

@@jessemelville Okay, just stop right there. The child drowning was NOT the mother's fault. There were safeguards around the pool, and the account gives precisely zero indication that the mother was, say, getting drunk and partying while her child snuck off. Putting aside total lack of motive,
Do you see their faces?
21:22
Would you say those are men who have spent a large amount of time in _a distinctly extreme_ environment?
From the Wikipedia page for Aconcagua:
"...the effects of altitude are severe (atmospheric pressure is 40% of sea level at the summit)...Altitude sickness will affect most climbers to some extent, depending on the degree of acclimatization...Although the normal climb is technically easy, multiple casualties occur every year on this mountain...many climbers underestimate the objective risks of the elevation and of cold weather, which is the real challenge on this mountain. Given the weather conditions close to the summit, cold weather injuries are very common."
/end quote
I said in my own comment, what would have been suspicious would be their stories matching perfectly.

And then, when people do find your body, it's horribly frozen and your gear's been removed, and the killer is never declared your killer, because there's no way to know who in the group did it.

i love this channel so much i’ve been watching a lot of other morbid channels in the recent months but i find a lot of don’t put much attention into research and often miss important details which is so frustrating to me. it’s so satisfying to watch these well created quality videos!

I honestly think that, were it not for his son's death, he never would have done something like that. Many people in this world live their lives just one mental injury from completely shattering and you'd never even know it until it was too late. It was a despicable act but not beyond comprehension when you consider the factors that led to it. I was hearing Johns EYE SACKS was missing. I was like holy shit
Me too. 😂 I was like tf are eye sacks?
So glad to have you back!
You’re undoubtedly without question my favorite RUclipsr!! Happy you’re settled back into life in Japan! Looking forward to more content..
💙🎭🤎
wow, I'm so early! Love ya Lazy, currently just started a big drawing and this is gonna be perfect to have in the background! been waiting for the new video of the creepy photos series! Thank you
Is your PFP something you drew?
Congrats on settling down my friend! Your videos are so good when I can’t sleep! No negativity meant, your style is soothing in the dark hours… wishing you and your partner the best of luck! Keep rocking yr style Lazy! Peace ✌️
The first story was one of the few on your channel that actually made me feel sick, holy shit
Winding down, to fall asleep what a perfect time for a Lazy upload.
That first story is so so tragic and sad for that beautiful family. He definitely targeted her for being pregnant with a new son and what he did to her is disgusting and horrible. That mask is so damn creepy too.
I really loved the Aconcagua exploration! Really fascinating potential crime and nothing I’ve ever heard of before. Would love to see more like that :) maybe even an exploration of the bodies on Everest and the losses at K2? The stories and bodies we know of and don’t know about. Would be a fascinating listen!
I was looking at the suburbs in the first one, and I thought that they looked really familiar, turns out it’s not far from where I live. I never knew stuff like this happened in these boring suburbs.
I'm truly sorry to hear that. 😢
Most of the most heinous stuff occurs in regular & boring neighbourhoods
This is my favorite upload of yours in a while! 😄 Totally didn't see the first story coming; it genuinely sounds like a horror movie. I was instead expecting a police officer to be at the door because something happened with Charles.
Normal video, on in the background:
Lazy mentions my hometown and I'm tabbed back over. Time to see what sort of terrible things happened in my city yet again.
Again?? Girl, get out of there 😭
What a complete vile monster! Michael is one rotten soul!
He's the epitome of the saying " I don't want you but no one else can have you"
This tragedy is an example of not to ever open up a door late at night.
And to look in the peephole before opening the door.
I was NOT ready for the first one. 😞 Heartbreaking.
been a listener since 2016 and I just want to say thank you for your contribution to the internet. you are appreciated more than you know
SO glad you are back, Lazy! Missed you! Congrats on your new apartment ❤
Usually when I do something like hiking with others, we never elect a leader and we get back everytime lol
The first story disgusts me on a personal level. Before I was even born, my mom also lost a daughter to accidental drowning. But she didn't murder anybody and try to blame it on her grief. Instead, she picked herself up and healed. William was a weak piece of shit and Paul would be absolutely disgusted if he could see what his father had become.
jesus loves you!
@@thehappydeveloper-andstuff1175why did Jesus allow the babies to be killed
Lazy, You are the Best! Been a Fan from the beginning. Thank You
jesus loves you!
Those two were definitely murdered. The others were jealous of their skills. And a woman in a masculine group like that is always a recipe for disaster.
Patricia's case extremely strange. Sounds like she was deeply depressed and stressed .
Probably doesn't want to be found
