Chef, we've talked at great length on this topic (more or less), and while you've said repeatedly that you aren't against sexual minority rights, you consistently oppose any movements to obtain them. Against progress, if I can say that without insulting connotation (as I don't mean any!). I don't understand it.
Just because I don't picket with homosexuals that are protesting for equal rights doesn't mean that I'm opposing them.
Do you want to know what the
reality of this whole "issue" is with this story? It's about a few meaningless dollars.
That's it. It's not about minority rights. It's not about homosexuals being discriminated against. It's not about if lesbian parents with adoptive children should be considered a family or not.
It's about a few fucking dollars.
But, since these cry-baby adults felt like taking this public and making a big deal out of it, people will look at this situation as some sort of civil rights issue. Even though the Executive Director of the foundation cleared up the whole entire issue...
Mark Lowe, executive director for the Lava Hot Springs State Foundation, says the state doesn't recognize gay or lesbian marriage and defines a family as one male, one female and children.
He says as a state agency the foundation must follow Idaho law.
...people are still going to make this all about minority and civil rights.
People just want to bitch and bitch and bitch about shit that is so fucking meaningless in the long run. So this family didn't save a few dollars at a swimming pool?
So fucking what, you know? This whole civil rights bullshit is getting way out of hand and is,
ironically, doing nothing but seperating everybody even more. This is just one of many, many examples (from the US alone) that can be added to the list. In all reality, it's ridiculous for these people to complain about this and it's even more ridiculous for them to make it public. It needs to stop, seriously.
Hey, here's an idea...
Since we, as a society, are going to take ridiculous claims of discrimination seriously, why not bitch about Ladies' Night, you know?
Thursday night is "Ladies' Night" at most bars, so why don't I cause a big ruckus, bitch and moan about how that discriminates against
me,
as a male, because
I don't get cheaper drinks.
But, that's just silly, right? I mean, it's just cheaper drinks, you know? Well...it's just a few dollars at a community swimming pool too.
